Under a Network IP laptop license, schools and districts can install UltraKey 5.0 on all the laptops while continuing to collect performance data and manage the use of the software. UltraKey communicates with the UltraKey 5.0 Data Server software through any Internet connection. So, if the student is working at home on UltraKey 5.0, his progress is recorded real-time transparently. The UltraKey 5.0 Data Server software is Windows based but it communicates with Macintosh and Windows client copies of UltraKey 5.0.
CREATE Together is also an excellent tool for laptop initiatives enabling students to collaboratively work on projects and integrate them by exchanging project modules by Internet. The Windows format of CREATE Together even has a built-in emailing function. Mac users can email resources and project elements to each other.
Note that laptop initiative licenses pricing is available for schools only when the school owns the laptops.
