Quick Tips for Flash Video in Sorenson Squeeze

Here are my top do's and don'ts for
Adobe Flash CS3 Professional in
Sorenson Squeeze:
DO use
Sorenson Squeeze presets whose names ends in _Stream if you're deploying your content with a Flash Video Streaming Service (or any RTMP-based hosting provider). These presets use CBR, or Constant Bit Rate, encoding. Presets that do not end in _Stream use VBR (Variable Bit Rate) encoding, which should be used for FLV file content deployed solely to HTTP servers or local media like CD/DVD-ROM.
DON'T adjust pixel aspect ratios in your compression preset. For example,
Sorenson Squeeze automatically detects non-square pixel aspect ratios with DV source files and outputs a proper 4:3 aspect ratio for your content. Yes, 320x240 is the proper reduced size for 720x480 DV footage. In other words, don't force a 360x240 size for DV footage.
DO de-interlace your source video if necessary.
Sorenson Squeeze automatically applies de-interlacing to source files that have a standard NTSC frame size, such as 640x480 or 720x480. If you've de-interlaced your footage prior to importing it into Squeeze, make sure to add a new custom filter with de-interlacing unchecked--otherwise, Squeeze might reduce the overall image quality by trying to remove non-existent fields.
