Easy Track is Micrograms' new recordkeeping and assessment system which yields lots of data, with computers doing most of the work. All Micrograms programs use the same network database, the Micrograms Data Folder. And, a student's name is entered or imported into Easy Track once: when she/he enters the school. Meaningful student performance data is collected and presented with minimum staff time involved. Teachers can quickly review and analyze the data when planning future instruction.
Tech Staff will notice Easy Track dramatically reduces annual setup time for Micrograms software. No more reentering student names annually or making multiple class files for a single teacher!
Teachers will appreciate that options for all Micrograms programs can be set with Easy Track, and that student data from all Micrograms programs can be viewed, graphed, analyzed, and printed from within Easy Track. Individual student performance and growth can be compared with those of the class, grade, or other student groupings.
Educators also will like Easy Track's ability to compare group to group performance and growth, so they can analyze various groups’ performance from No Child Left Behind perspectives.

ContentWatch, the leading provider of Internet protection solutions for homes, businesses, education, and government organizations, has releases the ContentProtect Professional Appliance. The new ContentProtect Professional Appliance is an Internet filtering appliance that helps businesses and organizations enforce their Internet Usage Policy through policy-based Internet filtering. Implementing the ContentProtect Professional Appliance will help businesses and organization, increase employee productivity, reduce liability and preserve bandwidth.
The ContentProtect Professional Appliance provides the same great filtering technology as ContentWatch's client-based software product, ContentProtect Professional, within a single server appliance. Designed with ease of use in mind, the appliance is plugged in to the network and with minimal configuration begins enforcing the organization's Internet Usage Policy. The appliance requires no software installation or configuration on individual computers and will automatically protect the network and employees by blocking access to websites that conflict with the organization's Internet Usage Policy. By implementing, organizations will benefit from increased employee productivity and focus while reducing the risk of inappropriate content entering the work place.
"ContentWatch is one of the first security vendors to offer 'end-to-end' Internet management and protection to businesses and organizations," said Jack Sunderlage, President and CEO of ContentWatch. "The Internet has become a common staple in the workplace. With more mobile and remote users, businesses are faced with the growing challenge of increasing employee productivity and protecting their computers, networks and employees from objectionable content and security threats regardless of where and how the user connects to the Internet."
Sunderlage continued, "The ContentProtect Professional Appliance, combined with the ContentProtect Professional client option, round out our security offering by providing a more holistic approach to manage and protect Internet access-especially to organizations that have a mobile workforce with notebook computers."
ContentWatch has achieved a significant milestone with the release of the ContentProtect Professional Appliance. Most server-based or appliance-base filters rely on static URL lists for filtering. The ContentProtect Professional Appliance uses patent-pending dynamic contextual analysis (real-time filtering) to filter Internet content. Analyzing content on the fly is a more effective way to filter Internet content as Web content can change hourly and new Web sites are created each day. Products that rely on static URL lists become easily outdated.

Teachers, educational coordinators, and IT administrators were delighted with the launch of Faronics Insight, the ultimate classroom management solution that empowers teachers with full control over classroom computers and student attention. Faronics took the opportunity to showcase how Insight fosters cooperative classrooms where learning is achieved through interaction and collaboration among the students themselves, and with the teacher.
Teachers loved the fact that they can share their screen with students, provide remote assistance to students from a central console, and monitor classroom screens to ensure students are on task. Students even have the ability to request and receive help directly in their workstation session, and have their voice heard through classroom voting. With the power to disable applications, Internet access, and blank student screens, teachers can quickly gain student attention when required.
The ability to monitor student progress strengthens teaching effectiveness and ensures that teachers always have full control over classroom progress and activities. Teachers can ensure that students are kept on task and engaged in an environment where technology accelerates the learning experience.
Teachers have been asking for a solution that captures the educational and productive aspects of computers while removing a workstation’s distractive elements and temptations," said Victor Gonzalez, Product Manager for Insight. "Faronics is committed to delivering solutions that fit and exceed the needs of our customers, and Insight is definitely proof of that."
Faronics Insight 10 Workstation License with 1 Yr Maintenance (K-12/Higher Ed) - $299.00
Faronics Insight Classroom License with 1 Yr Maintenance (K-12/Higher Ed) - $599.00

Interactive Solutions, Inc. announced MovieWorks Deluxe will be renamed to MediaWorks with the launch of the Universal Macintosh version 6.2 later in the month. The update will be free for registered users of 6.0 or higher.
"MediaWorks is a much better name than MovieWorks for the types of multimedia projects it is able to create! Half of our users are creating amazing "movie-type" productions that are not possible or difficult in other low-end, affordable movie and slide show editors, and the other half are creating high-quality, precisely-timed interactive presentations without the learning curve and expense of other high-end authoring tools,” says Bill LaCommare, President, Interactive Solutions, Inc. “We are all thrilled to finally have a name that better positions our flagship product in the market.”
David Hentschel, legendary Record Producer for Elton John, Genesis and others says, “I looked at all the other software available for authoring my cross-platform multimedia biographical presentation and found each package wanting due to either inadequate features, unnecessary complexity, unreliability, steep learning curves or prohibitive cost. After a quick web search, I came upon MovieWorks Deluxe which I almost discounted due to the fact that its name led me to believe it was only for creating movies. However, literally within minutes of downloading the demo, I was authoring an interactive presentation. MediaWorks is so intuitive and includes all the tools I needed in one very user-friendly package. Furthermore, the finished standalone DVD-ROM looks and performs equally well on Mac OS X and Windows. The name change is a great idea and should help introduce this amazing software application to many new users.”
“The name change to MediaWorks is great news! No name is better to describe its range of capabilities,” says Joe Morris, Technology Director, Gillispie Elementary School and Apple Distinguished Educator. “Our students have used MovieWorks Deluxe for the last 3 years to create clay animation movies and a variety of interactive projects including adventure stories and history reports. MediaWorks, without a doubt, is one of the best interactive, multimedia authoring programs available!”
MediaWorks combines simple-to-use video, sound, animation and paint/photo editors with a powerful multimedia authoring program. Create precisely-timed presentations and a variety of different kinds of movies with unprecedented ease, speed, quality and affordability. Deliver finished presentations on a computer or data CD/DVD, or exported movies on a consumer DVD player, iPod or web page. The five integrated applications (Author, Paint/Photo, Sound, Video & Animator) work together seamlessly, making it easy to incorporate analog (AV) or digital (DV) video, buttons, photos, graphics, animations, 3D, narration, MIDI, MP3, CD music, text and titling, and even Virtual Reality (VR) movies into stunning, professional-quality multimedia productions.
MediaWorks academic price is $71.95, student pricing is $55.95, and installers for Mac OS X and Windows are included on a single CD.
