Xara Xtreme and Xara Xtreme Pro have just been upgraded to version 3.2 making them even more powerful for graphic designers. The new releases include many enhancements to the bitmap and photo handling, the color, fill and text controls and the import and export options. Xara Xtreme Pro now benefits from the inclusion of Xara3D for high quality 3D headings, logos and animations.
Xara Xtreme and Xara Xtreme Pro remain the fastest vector graphics editors available, by a large margin. Their versatility enables the user to design and process vector graphics, photos, flash and DTP documents. At a great academic price it's no wonder that many professional designers are choosing Xara Xtreme Pro above the more expensive alternatives, as it gives them the features they require such as CMYK support, PDF import, PDF/X export, support of both PANTONE color matching and multi-page documents.
Xara Xtreme users can now create animated Flash animations as well as benefiting from improved text handling with flowing columns and pdf import. Xara Xtreme Pro users now have even more import/export options including Microsoft XPS and support for professional RAW photo files. Since Xara3D is now bundled, Xara Xtreme Pro users can now create 3D extrusions, headings and animations.
Both Xara Xtreme and Xara Xtreme Pro benefit from more than 40 new enhancements including integration with external photo editors such as Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended and Corel PaintShop Pro. With only one simple click on a photo in Xara Xtreme to edit, and a second click on "Save", pictures will be automatically updated in Xara Xtreme.
The range of import and export options has been increased to accommodate RTF, EMF, SVG and, in Xara Xtreme Pro, XPS and RAW. Compatibility with Microsoft Vista has also been improved.

SAN RAMON, CA, April 17, 2007 — Faronics recognizes that recent media events have highlighted the dangers and liabilities of unwanted spyware in a classroom environment. Educational administrators, technology coordinators, and teachers realize the growing need to protect their computing environments from malicious programs that can infect and redirect computers to websites with inappropriate content.
Faronics Anti-Executable protects workstations from unwanted software, including spyware, malware and adware, by preventing unauthorized executables from running. Anti-Executable ensures classroom integrity by scanning the entire workstation hard drive and creating a whitelist of all programs and utilities that are authorized for use, thereby preventing applications that are not on the list from executing or installing. Using Anti-Executable ensures schools that their students and teachers have the productivity tools required for the educational experience, but are protected from classroom distractions, such as chat programs and games, and Internet dangers, such as spyware, malware, and adware. Learning problem solving should start early in life so that the mind creates the appropriate pathways and builds a catalog of associations and knowledge that can be built upon later. The Critical Thinking Co. has developed a number of products to help young children learn problem solving skills before they even start Kindergarten. These tools use fun puzzles, riddles, and stories to start kids thinking critically and creatively.
Problem solving becomes even more crucial as math and science classes start getting progressively harder. For students who have not been exposed to much problem solving preparation, this is the time that they must start receiving the proper training. Though the explosive development of early childhood has passed, kids in their teens are still quite capable of rapidly developing problem solving and critical thinking skills.
The Critical Thinking Co. products are based on education, not on age. It is never too late to start thinking critically and developing strong analytical habits--though the longer you wait the harder it gets. Critical thinking is useful in any field of endeavor because it serves to create a deeper understanding of the subject matter or task at hand. Critical thinking and problem solving are intimately linked because they both require active participation and mental agility.
